How to continue to expand new energy and promote sustainable and stable green development of the automotive industry has become a common concern of all automotive parties. On June 21, the “2019 China Automobile Ecological Design International Forum” co-sponsored by China Automobile Technology Research Center Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “China Automobile Technology Research Center”) and Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. At the forum site, more than 300 guests, including leaders of relevant institutions, experts and scholars at home and abroad, representatives of automobile enterprises and mainstream media in China, jointly discussed the latest achievements and policy trends of green development in automobile industry around the theme of “ecological design promotes green and healthy development of automobile industry”, and shared green practice experience. To promote the sustainable development of the automotive industry and accelerate the green transformation of the automotive industry.

In the opening speech of the forum, Li said that this year coincides with the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, China’s automotive industry has undergone tremendous changes. Relying on reform and opening up, the overall size, comprehensive strength and activity of China’s automotive industry have been rapidly improved. In 2019, the trend of the continuous growth of China’s automobile sales has been broken. For the first time in 28 years, the growth rate has shown negative growth, and the automobile industry has entered a crucial new stage of development. At the same time, with the development of advanced technology, the automotive industry chain gradually focuses on lightweight, electrification, intellectualization and the deep integration of big data, ecological design and artificial intelligence. The application of new technology will bring more profound changes to the automotive industry.

In fact, CAIC Center has been playing an important role in promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the automotive industry. In 2012, under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, CAIC Center carried out the research on the evaluation system of eco-automobiles. In 2015, it formally issued the China Eco-Automobile Evaluation Rules to the outside world and filed with the National Accreditation and Supervision Commission. The evaluation of the first batch of eco-vehicles in China’s automobile market. In the past four years, a total of 39 models of 23 enterprises have been selected, and the rules of the 2019 edition have been improved last year. The new rules will be formally launched and implemented on April 1, 2019.

In his speech, Li Xun mentioned that in 2017, China Automobile Center was approved to be the first industrial energy-saving and green development evaluation center in the automotive industry. China Automobile Center will run the green concept and technology throughout the whole process of automotive manufacturing, and continuously promote the all-round development of green materials, green products, green factories, green supply chain and other fields. The automobile industry has become a model of green transformation and upgrading of China’s industry and promotion of green development.
